CETYS University MBA: Empowering global talents to lead

Have you ever wondered how your smartphone was made? It might be designed in California, have parts manufactured in Mexicali, and assembled in China. That’s how interconnected our world has become, and why success demands leaders who can navigate this ever-evolving landscape.

For over 25 years, CETYS University’s Graduate School of Business (GSB) has been helping professionals do just that. Located at the crossroads of Mexico and California, where innovation, industry, and culture converge, GSB offers a new kind of MBA experience that redefines what it means to study business.

Here, you’ll grow your network, sharpen your skills, and find a community that supports your ambitions. With its cross-border approach, GSB combines academic excellence with real-world business immersion. You can even earn a dual degree with the University of San Diego (USD) while studying in the California-Baja region, one of North America’s innovative and entrepreneurial hubs.

Discover how the CETYS GSB MBA and the CETYS–USD Dual Degree MBA can redefine your career:

    Learn where innovation happens

Stretching from Tijuana to Mexicali, the Cali-Baja region is where industries like aerospace, medical devices, semiconductors, logistics, and advanced manufacturing are thriving — and they’re not slowing down anytime soon. To keep up, companies are looking for leaders who can connect global strategy with local impact.

As a GBS student, you’ll step right into the action through corporate projects, consulting assignments, and paid internships with regional and multinational companies. It’s a chance to take what you’ve learned in class and apply it in bilingual, multicultural workplaces.

While internships are subject to visa and academic performance requirements, CETYS ensures you’re supported throughout. The university provides the guidance you need to integrate seamlessly into the regional business community.

A dual degree that opens two markets

A major highlight of the MBA experience is the CETYS–USD Dual Degree MBA. “This programme is the best of both worlds. You get a lot of classes from the Mexican side of the MBA and then the American side of global leadership,” shares graduate Eduardo Aranda.

Designed to build leadership, strategy, and innovation skills rooted in sustainability, the programme opens doors abroad as well. You’ll learn from international professors and connect with alumni who are leading businesses across North America. “One of my greatest achievements was joining Beta Gamma Sigma, an elite honour society,” says Aranda. “It has expanded my network with the best academics in universities around the world.”

A multicultural environment in a region of opportunity

Beyond being home to thriving industries, Tijuana and Mexicali are just minutes from the Tijuana-San Diego and Mexicali-Imperial Valley. You’re close enough to a global metropolitan environment but far enough to soak up the warmth and community of a university setting. Add in cultural diversity, modern infrastructure, and affordable living, and it’s easy to see why students love it here.

CETYS GSB makes settling in even easier. From visa and relocation guidance to personalised academic mentoring, international students get the support they need from day one. What’s more, with accreditations from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), you’ll be receiving an education that’s recognised and valued everywhere.

Employability with purpose: education that drives impact

At first glance, the CETYS MBA might look like your typical programme for future executives, but it’s not. It’s built for people who care as much about impact as they do about success. The courses mix strategy, sustainability, and ethics, all while promoting social innovation and the circular economy.

And with strong connections to industries on both sides of the border, CETYS grads are quick to find success in leading companies. Some work on cross-border expansion projects in the US, others drive innovation within Mexican tech and manufacturing firms.

The same goes for CETYS–USD Dual Degree MBA graduates. “This dual degree programme has given me the skillset and confidence to apply my knowledge to my day-to-day work,” says graduate Siomara González. “With this programme, I just started a promotion as North America Financial Manager, which, quite frankly, I don’t think I would have gotten if it weren’t for this programme.”

For global minds: The triple degree MBA

If you’re ready to take your MBA experience global, the CETYS Triple Degree MBA is your ticket to an international adventure. Over 18 months, it takes you across three continents (the Americas, Asia, and Europe), thanks to CETYS’s partnerships with the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) and the University of Applied Sciences in Upper Austria.

At the end of your journey, you’ll graduate with three master’s degrees, new friends from across the globe, and a real understanding of how business works worldwide. Open to candidates from across the Americas, this selective programme is ideal for ambitious professionals who want to experience globalisation firsthand.

“My experiences with the triple degree programme have definitely shaped me as a leader and as a person,” says student Mckenna Mellon. “It’s made me more open to different cultures and ideas, more patient, a better listener and friend. I’m not the same person that I was when I entered this programme, and I’m really proud to say that I was able to grow and learn.”
