“Every artist was once an amateur.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
As Southeast Asia’s hub for the arts and design, Singapore stands as a colourful backdrop for the next generation of starry-eyed creatives. The region bursts with captivating shows, avant-garde performances and thought-provoking exhibitions, while its vibrant museums, galleries, and packed calendar of international art fairs serve as a canvas for budding artists who are ready and eager to grow.
Since its founding as Singapore’s first college for contemporary arts and design, LASALLE College of the Arts has forged an enviable reputation for cutting-edge research and practice, and for grooming the nation’s cultural influencers and leaders.
“LASALLE provides a supportive, progressive and truly inspiring environment for our students,” says Professor Steve Dixon, President of LASALLE.
“We focus on nurturing creative expression, innovation and independence of thought; we encourage students to be inquisitive and original artists and designers. They become highly skilled and excel both in their chosen specialisms and in their collaborations with practitioners from other disciplines,” adds Professor Dixon.
As a known leader in creative education, LASALLE helps art practitioners enter the industry feeling confident and empowered to bring their vision to life, whatever their chosen medium is. In January, prospective students can gain a taste of their potential education route through LASALLE’s Open House 2018 – a popular and unique event designed to embolden and enthuse young arts enthusiasts through a demonstration of the College’s diverse programmes.
With more than 30 diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes open to students around the world, LASALLE is one of the few dedicated tertiary arts institutions to encompass all art forms under one roof.
Through dynamic interdisciplinary collaboration between our eight different schools, you will discover the depths of your practice, hone your craft, and enhance your prospects as a critically-successful arts graduate.
