Programmes to Inspire you for study
The University of Warwick’s Pre-University Summer School gives a short, yet excellent taste of what life is like at university.
Chaney Lau from Hong Kong shares “I was undecided on what courses I wanted to study and afraid of being unfamiliar with university life,” she says. “Here, having the opportunity to learn from brilliant professors and stay in one of the student halls, I got first-hand experience of studying and living at Warwick.”
The nine nights on Warwick’s beautiful self-contained campus offer an unforgettable experience. Participants live together with student ambassadors, explore two courses taught by leading academics in two of Warwick’s top departments (“Economics and Finance” or “A Taste of Social Sciences”) , and join personal development sessions as well as social and cultural activities.
Italian national Carlo Novello describes his Pre-University Summer School experience as an unforgettable experience… “If you are not sure about your future, this is what you are looking for. Only if you try living for 10 days in a university world, you can understand your passions and be responsible for your future choices!”
Renowned academics, courses that boost your core knowledge, trips to London, exciting social and evening programmes, value for money, and a lifetime of memories are some of the key reasons why over 98% of WSS alumni would recommend Warwick to their friends.
Throughout the three weeks, WSS students can join many engaging events, such as a tour of campus and a three-course welcome dinner. What’s more, they can attend guest lectures from Nobel Prize winners and choose one course of study for in-depth learning such as Psychology, Data Science and Leadership, and immerse themselves in British culture.
“The programme was amazing, combining fun and knowledge with great support staff and teachers that made sure we felt included. From the staff to the students and activities, everything was brilliant. The guest speakers taught us a lot, and the lectures delivered were very engaging,” recalls Warwick Summer School (WSS) alum Renata from Portugal.
The WSS is truly international, attracting self-driven and intellectually curious students, with students from 62 countries visiting Warwick in 2017/18.
“It’s the first time leaving my country and I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and gain credit whilst doing it. I’ve met people from places I’ve never been myself, so it’s nice to get different perspectives,” says another WSS graduate.
