The 5 most technologically-advanced universities in the US

From facial recognition systems to online course materials, universities have been integrating tech into the lives of students for quite some time.

Interviewing the Sunway Education Group’s Director of IT Services, Tony Lee, Tech Wire Asia discovered how technology is permeating campus operations.

“We have been keeping track of facial recognition and other biometric technologies, and there are viable use-cases especially in the education environment,” Lee explains.

To create a digitally-relevant experience for both students and staff, educational technology has the power to enhance the teaching and learning experience of universities worldwide.

Following the 2019 rankings from Best Colleges, here’s what we found:

Purdue isn’t just about taking classes. It’s about hands-on learning how to make an impact across the world, large or small. One example is a 3D modeling class taught by Rosemary Astheimer, where students created a 3D model and prosthetic for a shelter dog, Kay, who was born with a leg deformity. A big shout out to everyone this semester who did classwork, a senior project or donated their own time to make the world a better place!
