Environmental Management – PgDip/MSc

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) – PgDip/MSc

Ulster has over 20 years’ experience in teaching GIS.

Content is centred on the representation, acquisition, management, manipulation and analysis of spatial data. It also incorporates modules on remote sensing, spatial databases web-GIS and GIS in the commercial environment.

Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Monitoring – PgDip/MSc

This course is ideal for those working in the environmental field or those who wish to pursue a career in this area, fulfilling the demand for trained personnel in environmental regulatory agencies and in businesses involved in providing support services such as monitoring and consultancy.

Within the course you will develop:

Clear understanding of the mechanisms of toxicity for both organic and inorganic substances.

  • Advanced awareness of the behaviour of contaminants in a variety of environmental systems.
  • Insight into the main toxicological problems of contaminants in the environment and the impacts on organisms.
  • The ability to identify and articulate how environmental quality standards are created and monitored
  • Detailed understanding of the legislative controls on contaminants.
