London School of Economics: Business for a global generation

Going back to university isn’t an easy decision for most professionals. But if you want to advance your career, sometimes you need to rethink how you see people, organisations, and global businesses. That’s the appeal of the part-time Executive Global Master’s in Management (EGMiM) at London School of Economics and Political Science’s (LSE) Department of Management.

Where the world meets to learn

It’s no secret that balancing work and study can be challenging. Germaine Aboud, Regional Head MEA at Tradeasia International, describes her job as “very demanding, with very long days at work and constant travel,” which meant that flexibility was non-negotiable when choosing an executive master’s.

The EGMiM delivers just that. It requires only nine weeks away from work over 17 months of study, with short, intensive teaching blocks designed to work around your life. Recent graduate Josef Kutschi, now Managing Director at Frequentis in the aviation sector, says he was looking for a programme that would “complement” his job and one that had “an on-site presence in a campus”. And despite being based in Dubai and from Austria, he says the EGMiM structure “all worked out very well” for him.

Being based in London, one of the world’s leading business hubs, has other benefits. “I picked London because I feel that this city truly embodies diversity and coexistence in harmony,” says Kohtaro Kosugiyama, The Adecco Group Japan’s Head of Sustainability/ESG.

That global mix is in the EGMiM classroom too – the 2025/27 intake includes students from 10 nationalities across five continents. “Everyone comes from such different perspectives in terms of expertise, industries, age, countries and cultures, so being able to discuss and digest what’s happening at my workplace with them is very important,” adds Kosugiyama. Carolina Villasante O’Curneen from the Bank of England feels the same, saying it’s “absolutely amazing” to learn from classmates, both culturally and professionally.

Across cities, across industries

London is just the beginning. As an EGMiM student, you’ll also complete two overseas modules; previous students have travelled to global hubs such as Cape Town, Beijing, and Istanbul. These experiences place you right in the heart of different business environments, where you can meet industry experts and connect with LSE’s global alumni network.

It’s an intensive experience, but one that many find incredibly valuable for their professional growth. “The overseas modules were a perfect fit where we get to travel to South Africa and India to explore how we can apply everything we learned on the ground,” says Aboud. “It’s kind of like a bootcamp, which is intense but very, very interesting.”

After 17 months, that journey often leads graduates into leadership opportunities across all kinds of sectors, including consulting, finance, technology, energy, law, NGOs, retail, music and creative industries, e-commerce and more.

LSE believes in backing future leaders who want to make a real difference in business and society. To support that goal, it offers two types of scholarships: The Hinrich Foundation Scholarship (apply by May 4, 2026) and the Management Leadership Scholarship (apply by May 11, 2026) for eligible students. If you’re an employer, it also offers discounts to organisations sponsoring more than one employee on the programme. Book a personal consultation with the Head of Executive Programme Delivery to discuss your eligibility for the programme and funding opportunities.
