Fondazione Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and EIT Digital announce the launch of collaboration to promote the sponsor programme of the EIT Digital Master School. Within the partnership, Fondazione CDP provides economic commitment up to 300.000 euros to finance up to twenty scholarships, worth 15.000 euros each. This scholarship includes full coverage of two university fees of the EIT Digital Master School and a living allowance during their studies.
The partnership comes from the encounter of the two institutions missions. Fondazione CDP mission is to create value for the Italy of tomorrow. EIT Digital is building a strong digital Europe since 2012.
The EIT Digital Master School is a European network of 18 top technical universities that, since 2012, combines technical education on emerging technologies with entrepreneurial education. Students learn to turn deep tech into business in a two-year programme at two universities. Upon successful completion, they receive two Masters’ degrees, plus a certificate from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). There are eight programmes to choose from. These are Autonomous Systems, Cloud and Network Infrastructures, Data Science, Cyber Security, Digital Manufacturing, Embedded Systems, Fintech, and Human Computer Interaction and Design.
To assign the scholarships, Fondazione CDP appointed a Commission to establish the criteria for the selection of Italian students who have applied for the EIT Digital Master School. The Fondazione CDP scholarships will be awarded in June 2021. The details about the application procedures are on the website of EIT Digital.
Fondazione CDP says it is necessary to invest in the future of the younger generation and preparing them to take part in the front line of the digital transformation process of our country. Today’s labour market is placed in a constantly and rapidly evolving scenario in which scientific and technological skills are increasingly in demand.
To EIT Digital, Fondazione CDP is the first partner to sponsor scholarships for the EIT Digital Master School students. EIT Digital hopes more organisations or companies in Europe will follow to also allow other students the opportunity to study at this unique double degreed masters. “Building a strong digital Europe is a joint effort of companies, organisations and governments. We are therefore very pleased that Fondazione CDP is taking responsibility for the Italian students. This way we can offer studying at the double degree EIT Digital Master School to any eligible student”, says Roberto Prieto, Chief Education Officer at EIT Digital.”
