Fayetteville State University: Affordable and flexible business programmes

Every year, an MBA grows more valuable. Its popularity endures, even despite global cost-of-living crises and the challenges of going back to school as a working professional.

It’s a big reason why as many as 28% of 2023-2024 MBA students are enrolled in online programmes, reports a study by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – compared to 14% in 2019-2020. More employers today see the value of a formal business education – online or not – as well.

The catch is MBAs don’t come cheap. In 2023, the average two-year cost for a top 10 MBA in the US was US$236,873, according to Poets&Quants. But if you’re looking for the best of both worlds, a flexible and quality business education that is also affordable, there’s a place that offers just that: Fayetteville State University’s

BCBE is all about a student’s access to success.

Its business programmes have adaptable schedules, thanks to various offerings such as HyFlex classes, user-friendly platforms, real-time interactions, and one-to-one mentoring. They link you to peers worldwide through virtual group projects, case studies, and strategic partnerships such as Deloitte, PwC, InfoSys, and the US Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Initiative.

Last but not least, it runs one of the most affordable AACSB-accredited business programmes in the US – making quality education accessible to everyone, no matter their backgrounds, schedules and commitments.

The BCBE Online MBA: Top-ranked, flexible, and specialised

Among the graduate degrees offered, BCBE’s programme stands out — the Princeton Review ranks it among the top 50 online MBA programmes for 2024, and Fortune Education ranks it third in North Carolina for its 2024 Best Online MBA Programmes listing.

Another notable accolade is the US News & World Report’s ranking of the programme. It is third among the 2024 Best Online MBA Programmes for Veterans in North Carolina – proof that military-affiliated students will find all the help and support they need in their business education. This includes, but is not limited to, free tuition through the Military Tuition Scholarship.

Whether they’re veterans or professionals, all MBA students get to take classes at their own pace. It is up to each student to complete the programme in as little as 12 months or a maximum of 72 months.

As the Online MBA uses the latest technology, it delivers real-time and recorded lectures. If you’re attending in real-time, you’ll be able to ask questions and collaborate with other students. Classes are delivered in the evening too, to give you more options to attend.

Beyond being adaptable to your schedule, the programme provides specialised training. The MBA programme has 12 specialisations, all of which are related to high-demand sectors. They include Healthcare Management, Digital Enterprise and Cloud Management, Finance, Marketing, Business Intelligence & Data Analytics, Cyber Security Management, ERP Systems Management, Health Informatics, Project Management, and more.

Those not looking for a full degree programme can apply for eight Graduate Certificates across various fields: Business Intelligence & Data Analytics, Cyber Security Management, Health Informatics, Project Management, and so on. Everything is delivered fully online and designed to reflect industry standards so you can apply what you’re learning to your job immediately.

Dynamic real-world learning

In 2023, FSU received a US$10.6 million grant from the US Department of Education (ED) for its major contribution to graduate education opportunities at the master’s degree level. The funds have allowed FSU to strengthen and expand qualified master’s degree programmes in key STEM fields, where African American and low-income students are underrepresented.

The programme is the latest initiative that resulted from the university’s industry partnerships, widening opportunities for more students to learn and to do so immersively. BCBE works with MedPro Group on week-long programmes for students to tackle challenges within the insurance industry. Several collaborations with global consulting company Deloitte have taken place, too, allowing students to build their skills through hands-on activities like consulting for local businesses.

Being an online MBA student doesn’t mean missing out on such experiences. The skills you’ve developed throughout the programme come full circle during the final capstone project, where you work with a team to enhance a business operation or an entrepreneurial effort.

Offered in collaboration with the Small Business and Technology Development Centre at FSU, the project will challenge you to work with a real organisation to draft a business plan or solve an issue they’re facing. It hones technical skills like accounting and marketing while sharpening soft skills through client collaboration. It’s a clear testament to how BCBE equips students with everything they need to make the most of their learning journey.
