10 MBA scholarships for Ukrainian female refugees

ESMT Berlin is partnering with the BMW Group to offer 10 MBA scholarships to female refugees from Ukraine. The initiative — known as the “BMW Group Fellowships for Ukraine” — is the BMW Group’s latest series of measures to provide educational opportunities to refugees fleeing Ukraine. 

Ten female refugees displaced by the war will receive a scholarship that covers the tuition fees for the ESMT Global Online MBA programme. The English-taught programme is 100% online; students have the option to complete the programme between 24 to 60 months. 

Interested applicants will have to take note of the admission requirements below: 

• Proof of status as a “war refugee from Ukraine”
• Ukrainian citizenship or a residence permit for Ukraine 
• Three or more years of post-graduate work experience 
• Completion of an undergraduate degree 
• Good knowledge of English (no formal test required) 

Students can apply for the scholarship online. The deadline for the September 2022 intake is Aug. 28, 2022.

ESMT Berlin and the BMW Group show solidarity with Ukraine by offering MBA scholarships

As thousands of Ukrainian refugees have fled their home country, they are faced with the overwhelming prospect of having to restart their lives. The BMW Group has been engaging in numerous initiatives to support them. These measures include providing financial support, material donations and vehicles to transport medicines and food, supplying targeted humanitarian aid at BMW Group locations and supporting local relief organisations and charities. 

Its latest MBA scholarship initiative is a collaboration between the BMW Group and ESMT Berlin to help integrate female refugees into working life and find a long-term foothold post-conflict. Speaking about the initiative, a member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Human Resources and Labour Relations Ilka Horstmeier said the group’s main priority is to provide women with access to education and professional qualification programmes. 

Since the Russia-Ukraine conflict, countless universities worldwide have been offering scholarships, boarding, grants, tuition-fee waivers and bursaries to those displaced by the war. These include the University of Aberdeen, University of Chicago, University of the People and Hampton University, to name a few.
