Crummer Graduate School of Business: Small classes, big impact

As someone who has always been passionate about people and planet, Enrico Camilli sought a career of consequence. But he knew it was a tough task to forge a bridge between these noble aspirations and the hard-nosed acumen demanded by the modern economy.

That is, until Camilli found the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. It’s ranked first for Global MBA Programmes for Career Growth on LinkedIn and offers the number one MBA in the state for return on investment according to Forbes.

To Camilli, however, the school would serve as a launchpad to a future of impact. He would go on to intern with Siemens Energy on sustainability and strategy, and is now Associate Consultant at Raftelis, a consulting firm that helps local governments and utilities thrive.

The programme that got him here? An EAMBA (Early Advantage MBA).

Two distinct paths to business leadership

Over a period of 16 to 20 months, EAMBA students will find their skills polished, their earning potential increased, and their network expanded. The programme has four concentrations — Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, and Marketing – that complement core modules in design thinking, strategy, data analysis, international business, and more.

For those seeking a more data-driven career, consider the Accelerated MBA with STEM designation. The programme equips students with the know-how to harness the power of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while also developing each student’s unique soft-skills for business success through its strong liberal arts foundational curriculum. Designed to launch fast-moving business careers in STEM, the program integrates bespoke courses with a technical focus. You’ll explore operations, business analytics, artificial intelligence transformation, executive presence, personal branding, and more.

This full-time programme runs for 20 to 24 months and has valuable internships and optional international exchange programmes over a lengthy summer break.

At its heart, it’s about learning, not in isolation, but together. Regardless of where they’re from, students share, challenge, and inspire each other’s growth.

“Being on a team throughout all classes and the collaborative culture allowed us to face the challenges of working with others and balancing self-interests with shared goals,” says Camilli. “We worked to make sure everyone came out on top.”

Students aren’t alone in their journeys either. Faculty members are dedicated – a 4:1 student-to-faculty ratio helps — always putting their students first. They connect them to their professional network. Given these are world-class scholars and expert practitioners in their respective fields, that network is extensive.

Therein lies another Crummer advantage: career advice and placement, mentoring, and even a good amount of coaching support. All MBA students here can access them, something you don’t often find in larger, more standardised MBA programmes.

“Our goal is not just to teach business, but to equip students to lead sustainable, data-driven change across complex global environments,” says Dr. Dan Biller, Professor of Practice, Economics. “We like to do that through our graduate assistantship programme, as it allows us to mentor and coach our students in a focused manner on the subject matter they would like to pursue in their careers after graduation.”

Camilli is one such example. He had the opportunity to work with Dr. Biller during the last year of his EAMBA, assisting the professor on a research paper about green bonds and sustainable development bonds. This gave Camilli a hands-on opportunity to further focus on other areas of sustainability in which he had an interest. Dr. Biller says Camilli’s contributions have been “instrumental” to his research.

Upon completing his EAMBA, Camilli joined Siemens Energy. There, he worked on new technologies such as carbon capture and zero-emission power plants, developing and commercialising them. His dream to work with both people and sustainability is now a reality – today, he’s assisting clients on projects in the public municipal utilities industry.

When asked about his Crummer experience, Camilli says, “I’ve learned a lot, and gained multiple years of experience in only a few months. It makes me appreciate how much I can now put into practice in real-world scenarios.  More importantly, Crummer didn’t just teach me about business, it taught me how to lead according to who I am, with purpose and clarity.”
