Job search website RateMyPlacement has released its rankings of the Top 100 Undergraduate Employers 2017-2018 in the United Kingdom, with financial and legal firms dominating the top spots.

Companies listed in the 100 are “the top dogs in offering professional work experience for students, covering everything from placements and internships to vacation schemes and insights,” it said.

The index is compiled from the reviews of thousands of students on the RateMyPlacement website.

The American bank J.P. Morgan was ranked the top employer for undergraduates, with one graduate writing that:

“I have learned more in my 10 weeks at JP Morgan than I have in my three years at university. The skills I have learned are practical and will aid my studies next year and also in the future.”

Second was Bank of America Merrill Lynch, followed by PwC, KPMG, Rothschild & Co and Taylor Wessing in equal sixth place, and then Barclays bank.

The listings provide comprehensive information on placement types – from insight or vacation schemes, to internships and placement years to application processes, locations of the company in the UK, and about salary and benefits.

Employers outside of the financial sector included Warner Bros, Microsoft, IBM, BP, Aldi and BMW Group.
