Become a Leader in Hospitality with Boston Business School

Singapore’s Boston Business School (BBS) serves an unrivalled selection of quality hospitality courses. As one of the most reputable hospitality management institutions in one of the most popular Asian countries, you’re bound to thrive and succeed with the school’s distinguished diploma structure and dedicated teachers.

As the school’s Executive Director, Jeffrey Yung Yew Chun, explains, “Boston Business School consistently encourages and guides students to achieve social, academic and vocational skills. By creating a conducive learning environment with committed staff and up-to-date facilities, graduates have effectively carved out numerous opportunities in their careers.”

Specialist Diploma in Hospitality Management

Set on a foundation of seven core modules, this hospitality management diploma delves into the subjects of Lodging, Travel and Tourism, English for Hospitality, Personal Grooming and Development, Housekeeping Operations, Food and Beverage Services and Industrial Attachment.

This Specialist Diploma is delivered through informative in-class exercises, industry placements and individual assignments, allowing you to master a practical and theoretical approach to hospitality management. Just like for the rest of BBS courses, the Industrial Attachment section is subject to your work permit in Singapore. But this will always be an incredible way to witness the daily rhythm of a bustling work environment.

On your placement, you’ll experience boutique hotels, world-renowned restaurants and local F&B establishments. Once you’ve completed this diploma, you’ll display a strong commitment to your practice and understand the importance of health and safety regulations within hospitality. And by acquiring the essential knowledge of all things hospitality management, you’ll be ready to thrive in a fast-paced working world.

CTH Level 4 Diploma in Hospitality Management (QCF)

BBS offers an array of study routes to suit your personal preference. That’s why the school has teamed up with the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality to deliver stage 4, 5 and 7 diplomas.

What’s great about this level 4 programme is that it’s broadly equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor’s degree without the financial or time constraints. For the full-time option, theory takes place over a six-month period for three-hours a day. The part-time option, on the other hand, runs for 10-months for just three days a week. By combining affordability and practicality, you’ll be getting more for your money through the CTH courses.

Even though this CTH Level Diploma consists of a short-term structure, it still manages to cover fundamental hospitality and management topics. The unique Global Tourism and Hospitality (GTH) module, for example, teaches you all about growth within the food and accommodation industries, while the Rooms Division Operations (RDO) module allows you to get to grips with front office and housekeeping processes.

CTH Level 5 Diploma in Hospitality Management (QCF)

Following on from Level 4, you’ll get to progress to the CTH Level 5 Hospitality Management course. Differing slightly to the previous level, this stage is focused on independent research and study expertise.

As your confidence increases, you’ll be expected to demonstrate your leadership skills. With the level 5 Human Resource Management in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry module, you’ll take the reins and practice the art of management. Through innovative group work sessions and case studies, leading teams will soon become a natural talent.

By enrolling on the level 5 Understanding Funding and Finance in Tourism and Hospitality (UFTH) module, you’ll begin to take responsibility for financial accounts and budget costs. By nurturing your ability to make important and cost-effective decisions, you’ll gain the transferrable skills that will power your future career. With so many opportunities on offer, Boston Business School leaves you with a leading graduate advantage.

CTH Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management

As a Level 7 Diploma, the progressive pathway for this scheme takes a Master’s form. Since the CTH Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality Management at BBS awards students with a minimum of 120 credits, you’ll be heading straight into a Master’s degree without any hesitation.

In comparison to the other CTH diplomas, you’ll also be able to complete the full-time theory of this course over just six months. But since this is an advanced level course, your modules can be tailored. The compulsory subjects for the postgraduate route are Hospitality and Tourism Marketing Strategies (HTMS), Management and Leadership Across Cultures (MLAC) and Hospitality and Tourism Strategic Planning (HTSP).

In terms of optional modules, there’s the multifunctional Managing Hospitality and Tourism Projects (MHTP) topic and Research Methods for Hospitality and Tourism Managers (RMHTM) for learners to select. With this rich programme selection, BBS displays a solid commitment to service.

Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Hospitality Management (QCF)

Another pathway you can choose is the Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Hospitality Management. As the UK’s largest awarding body, Pearson grants candidates a wide range of vocational, academic and occupational schemes.

This Pearson BTEC syllabus takes a different route to the CTH and specialist diploma. Rather than covering a select range of subjects, it covers a variety of 21st century hospitality topics. Through this diploma, students explore the contemporary dynamics of the hospitality industry, the complexities of customer service and the current state of F&B services.

Alongside the Pearson pathway, each diploma provides students with a progressive pathway into established international universities. With five incredible study routes on offer, it’s easy to see why there have been so many successful students benefiting from the hospitality and management services found at BBS.
