Calling all students living in Australia: today could certainly be your lucky day. Online source of student discounts UNiDAYS is running a competition offering an entire term of free rent for one lucky student.

It’s no secret rent is a huge expense for the majority of students all over the world. Just think of all the money you would save if you didn’t have to pay for your accommodation…

The competition could be a game changer for one lucky student.

It’s pretty easy to enter, too. You must be 18 or over, live in Australia or New Zealand and be a student of any kind, even if you are part-time. You must apply on your own as yourself. Joint submissions or submissions on behalf of another will be ignored. And you must have a current bank account in Australia or New Zealand.

If you win you will get a max allowance of AUD5,000 (US$3,960) to be spent on “accommodation costs” for the term, which is based on UNiDAYS’ calculation of one room in a shared house or the cost of student halls accommodation.

You need to register when you enter and verify you are a current student, but other than that you’re golden. Go forth and reap the benefits of rent-free life (for a term at least!). You’re welcome.

The competition closes on Feb 28 and the jammy-rent-free-winner will find out on March 12.
