There are many reasons why international students choose to study at La Trobe University in Australia.
One would be the University’s world-leading reputation. In the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ratings for 2020, La Trobe University secured fourth place out of 768 universities from 85 countries, and ranked second for its progress on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal – good health and well-being.
This global performance table assesses universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and shows how La Trobe takes responsibility for its actions by caring about sustainability, its community and the global environment.
La Trobe University is also popular among international students for its ground-breaking research and proven results in producing graduates that do well in the workplace.
In the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020, La Trobe University ranked in the top 20 in Australia — Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) labelled the University’s research as “well above world standard”.
In 2020, the internationally-recognised university is adding two more appealing factors to the mix: flexible term dates and new scholarships.
Study online now and on campus later
The uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the plans of many international students.
To get your future back on track, La Trobe University now offers flexible term dates.
You can commence your studies online and be ready to join La Trobe on campus once travel restrictions are lifted.
With new term intakes in July, September and November, you can get started on your degree much sooner than you probably thought.
Choose your degree from the list of courses available under the new term structure. This should be easy as there are many undergraduate and postgraduate courses on offer, in study areas like business, IT, engineering, health and science.
You’ll study two subjects per term and need to complete a total of four subjects (the equivalent of a full-time semester). After that, you’ll transition to Semester 1 in 2021.
Once travel restrictions are lifted and you’ve received your student visa, you can transition to study at one of La Trobe University’s campuses across Victoria and New South Wales.
If travel restrictions are lifted part way through a term, you’ll need to complete the term online and transition to on-campus study the next term.
