Most international students are familiar with the fact that the US doesn’t offer a lot of financial aid or scholarship options to those who aren’t US citizens.
But there are a number of scholarships, grants and fellowships available from many universities in the country for those pursuing graduate or postgraduate study.
So if you’ve dreamed of studying in the country but couldn’t afford it for your Bachelor-level study, don’t give up just yet!

Fulbright Foreign Student Program

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is designed to enable overseas graduate students to study and conduct research at several US universities.
The scholarship is not resdricted to a particular specialisation or degree either, like most scholarship programmes – it’s offered across several disciplines.
There are approximately 4,000 scholarships awarded every year to international graduate students. Eligibility requirements depend on the country you’re from.
The scholarship covers funding for the duration of study including tuition, living stipend, health insurance, and more.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) offers awards for full-time study or research for women who are not US citizens or permanent residents.
Award recipients are selected based on their academic achievement as well as a demonstrated commitment to the progression of women and girls, and they must return to their home countries once their programme is over so they can become leaders and serve their countries in meaningful ways.
The association offer several annual fellowships, ranging from US$18,000-$30,000 (depending on the programme), and can be reapplied for in following years.

Offered by the prestigious Purdue University, this scholarship is for Post Doctoral Fellows in Engineering.
