Single’s Inferno Season 5 just started, and it’s already crazy.
Spoiler alert: Two girls are fighting over the same guy. Spicy photoshoots. Getting ignored by the one they’re interested in. Side eyes. Nasty looks. Passive aggressiveness.
But under all the drama, Single’s Inferno has always had an surprisingly impressive cast. Several contestants have serious academic credentials, proving they’re more than just reality TV eye candy.
Take Lee Nadine, for example. She graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and a secondary degree in computer science.
That’s not all; Choi Hyeseon, also known as Hazel Choi, pursued an MS in Data Science, Bioinformatics, and Biological Modelling at Durham University. Today, she’s working as a Data Scientist Consultant at a data and analytics consultancy agency in London, UK.

Kim Min Ji
Kim Min Ji (born in 1996) has been making the rounds on the internet for defending her claim to Song Seung Il after Choi Mina Sue chose him, and her whispering into Seung Il’s ear about how he is her top pick among the men of Single’s Inferno Season
Regarding her education, Min Ji attended Chungbuk Physical Education High School. She went on to pursue an undergraduate degree in physical education at Changwon National University and a Master’s in Physical Education at Inha University.
Today, Min Ji is pursuing a career as a track and field athlete and has won several competitions, earning the titles of 3x National Champion and Top 8 at both the Asian Games and the Asia Champions.

Ham Ye Jin
Ham Ye Jin (born in 1996), known for her quirkiness and honesty, is currently working as a freelance announcer for news stations and businesses. She was formerly an Esports announcer for the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK).
Ye Jin pursued a Bachelor’s in Airline Services at Yeonsung University, formerly known as Anyang Industrial Technical School, in Anyang, South Korea. Yeonsung University is one of the few universities that offer Airline Services as an undergraduate degree.

Kim Go Eun
“I may look cold on the outside, but once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m cute and warm-hearted,” Kim Go Eun (born 2000) says in her intro.
Go Eun’s a well-known model and influencer. Her father, Kim Hyun-soo, was a former South Korean football player, and she has been embroiled in a dating scandal with rapper G-Dragon (later proven false). She even become second runner-up in the 66th Miss Korea pageant in 2022.
Go Eun attended Inha Technical College to pursue a two-year degree in Airline Cabin Service Management.

Lee Jong Young
Lee Jong Young (born in 2000) is a craft designer and specialises in home decor, resin-made vases, and pressed-flower resin pieces. Before her career, she attended Sangmyung University to pursue a Bachelor’s in Live Art and Design.
Choi Mina Sue
Born in Australia, Mina Sue (born in 1999) has made a name for herself way before starting in Single’s Inferno Season 5 and becoming its de facto star protagonist.
She was the first runner-up for Miss Korea, the winner of Miss Earth 2022, and a consistent on Channel A’s ‘Battle for Tenancy: Penthouse’.
Thanks to her Miss Earth win, she served as a spokesperson for Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environmental Programme, and the WWF.
Today, Mina Sue is a communications student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, ranked #42 on the QS University World Ranking in communications.
At the time of filming Single’s Inferno, she returned to South Korea for the summer and to intern at a beauty startup.

Park Hee Sun
Park Hee Sun (born in 2003), the first woman to arrive on the island, is the youngest Single’s Inferno contestant. Despite being the youngest, the first runner-up of Miss Korea 2024 is confident and is comfortable being in the spotlight.
The former cheerleader is currently attending Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), majoring in information systems and minoring in human-computer interaction and fine arts.
CMU is the top university in the field, ranking #3 in the QS World University Rankings for Computer Science and Information Systems. Graduates have gone on to work at top tech, finance, and consulting companies, including Apple, Google, Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, and IBM.

Samuel Lee Sung Hun
Samuel Lee Sung Hun has been making waves for his ability to speak English and Korean. Now based in New York City, he does quantitative trading at a proprietary firm.
On his now-deleted LinkedIn profile, Sung Hun highlighted his professional history at companies including Amazon, Accenture, and Snowflake. In fact, he was a former Google software engineer.
Samuel holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, one of the US’s top public universities that’s produced names such as:
- John Schulman, co-founder of OpenAI and creator of ChatGPT
- Lars Rasmussen, co-founder of Google Maps, Google Wave, and Weav Music
- Michael Sipser, Dean of Science, MIT

Youn Hyun Jae
Yoon Hyun Jae is no stranger to the spotlight. He was named first runner-up for Mr. International Korea 2024 and won Mr. Global Korea 2024.
He’s currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Sport Business at Chung-Ang University.

Lim Su Been (born in 2002), a model and former baseball player, was a finalist for Mr. International Korea 2022 and won the Best Model Award. He has also guested on ENA’s “Hybe Boy Scout.” His education is unknown.

Kim Jae In
If you’re Mnet’s “Stage Fighter,” you might remember Kim Jae In.
Born in 1998, Jae In is a contemporary dancer and choreographer. He attended Gwanpyeong Middle School and later pursued a Bachelor’s in Contemporary Dance at Hanyang University, one of the top universities in the world for performing arts, as ranked by QS World University Rankings by Subject.
Today, he is a dance teacher and dancer.

Woo Sung Min
Woo Sung Min (born in 1996) is one of the oldest male contestants and an optician who took over his family’s optical shop. There isn’t much known about Sung Min, not even his education.
But we know he has been partnering with Kim Go Eun, and they have both been given the opportunity to visit paradise.

Danny Koo
Rumoured to be joining as the second batch of male contestants is Danny Koo (born in 1991), a Korean-American violinist and singer. He was admitted to the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and taught at prestigious institutions, including the Royal Academy of Music and Taylor Academy for Young Artists.
Koo received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Violin Performance from New England Conservatory, and was also the recipient of the Beneficent Society Scholarship and Vernon Scholarship.

Lim Sung Jim
Professional volleyball player, Lim Sung Jim (born in r1999), is rumoured to be one of the additional male contestants to be added halfway through the TV show. Sung Jim already has one million followers on Instagram.
During his formative years, Sung Jim attended Yongdu Elementary School before transferring to Uirim Elementary, where he began playing volleyball. He then moved on to Jecheon Middle and Jecheon Industrial High School.
He is now enrolled in Sungkyunkwan University to pursue a Bachelor’s in Sports Science.
