A beautifully-designed seven-storey student accommodation development in Sheffield that cost £24 million to build (approximately USD $31 million) officially opened on 29th November 2018.
The Elements is managed by Host, a student-facing brand for Victoria Hall Management Ltd, and has recently welcomed students from Sheffield Hallam University in South Yorkshire, England, just a short walk away from the accommodation building. The public university is the 11th largest in the UK with a student population of 30,815.
Large windows in each room allows for plenty of natural light as well as beautiful views overlooking the city.
There are a total of 735 en-suite cluster bedrooms, divided into mainly 4-6 bed flats. There are also three individual studio flats available. The fully-furnished student accommodation includes WiFi, a shared kitchen, dining area, and living room. The building also includes washer and dryer facilities, and bicycle storage.
It’s also situated in a convenient location as the city centre is just a 10-minute walk away, and it’s close to three supermarkets and Ecclesall Road – a popular student area with bars, shops and restaurants. It’s also walking distance to the Collegiate Campus of Sheffield Hallam University, so students’ don’t have to worry about being late for morning classes!
For nights when students would rather stay in, there’s a gym, cinema room, common room with TV, pool and foosball tables, and an outdoor courtyard where you can relax when the weather is good. If students need a break from studying in their rooms, they can pop downstairs to a quiet study area.
The weekly rent for the en-suite rooms is £120, while the studio flats are £130.
Kevin Williamson, Investment Director of Host, said at the launch, “Sheffield is a first-class University City and we’re keen to extend our partnership with Sheffield Hallam University. This development will give 735 of its first-year students a fantastic place to live with all the facilities and services that a student today requires in order to successfully progress their academic life.”
John Nesbitt, Managing Director of VHML, added: “Victoria Hall are delighted to launch the Elements student accommodation building in Sheffield which we have recently developed on behalf of the Blackrock European Fund and will be managed under our Host brand. We are honoured that Karen Burke, Head of ASRA and Accommodation Services at Sheffield Hallam University officially opened the scheme.
“This is a fabulous student accommodation scheme which we believe offers award-winning, high quality accommodation and living experience to Hallam’s students. Host offers hassle-free, all-inclusive student accommodation and provides students with a welcoming, reassuring and stress-free experience at university.”
