Bayes Business School: Future-proofing your career in business

A master’s programme is a huge investment of time, money, and eftort. With so much at stake, it’s easy to understand why everyone has a list of unique criteria to meet when choosing where to study. For Zafar Kamalov from Uzbekistan, what matters most to him are high-quality programmes, vast alumni network, and a good location.

Bayes Business School met all of his needs. “Firstly, it has a brilliant reputation for financial education,” he says. “Secondly, it has an extensive alumni network that presents many opportunities. The third reason is the school’s close proximity to the city of London, UK.”

Ranked as the second-best business school in London, fifth in the UK, and 27th in all of Europe  (Financial Times), Bayes Business School is known for its world-class business education with accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

Graduates of its master’s degree programmes know how the school’s many accolades translate into what they gain here – which is as extensive as their alma mater’s list of master’s programmes.

One of the most extensive master’s degree portfolios in Europe

Here, there are over 30 courses grouped into clusters: Accounting, Actuarial & Risk Management, Business and Management, Charity and Philanthropy, Energy and Shipping, Finance, Quantitative Finance, and Real Estate.

All curricula are carefully considered and contain the most up-to-date content. As a student here, you will know and engage with the latest tools and insights of your chosen field, thanks to many practical learning and collaboration opportunities with businesses.

Take the MSc Finance (ranked fifth best in the UK), for example. Here, you will learn and try your hand at financial modelling and international finance, both essential for a career in the field.

“The best part of the course for me was the coursework which was set alongside our modules,” says MSc Finance student Anamika Singh  from India. “This focused on the practical application of the theoretical knowledge we were taught in class. Having the opportunity to apply that learning to real-world case studies gave a great insight into how finance would look when we entered the marketplace.”

Multiple facilities and centres provide even more ways to apply what you learn in class. The Costas Grammenos Centre for Shipping, Trade and Finance is where Energy and Shipping cluster students can generate discussions among peers to develop policies regarding pressing international issues such as energy economics, shipping finance, shipping risk, and commodity trade. You can also hear the thoughts of global business leaders as they visit the centre to attend conferences and seminars and give talks regarding the industry.

Having guest speakers from leading businesses to network your way into your chosen industry. Graduates have taken advantage of this to secure positions in prominent companies across various sectors. Top employers include organisations such as Accenture, Allianz, Bloomberg, Deloitte, EY, JP Morgan, KPMG, Moody’s, and PwC. Some students even find employment in countries across Europe and Asia, thanks to the school’s international reach.

“The role at AllianceBernstein is a great step forward for me as it still incorporates the client aspects which I loved about my old role in private banking, but it has also added new responsibilities and opportunities,” Simone Berthel  from Switzerland says. “Now I’m very close to prospecting and building new client relationships. I also get invited to road shows and client events in Germany and Switzerland, so I get to travel a little, which is a big plus and very exciting.”

The team comprises recent graduates, experienced hire recruiters, and career coaches, all qualified to provide guidance on career paths, CV writing, interview skills, and fostering connections with leading businesses worldwide.

Closer to campus, there are just as many opportunities. As the school is in a strategic location between the Square Mile and Tech City, you will have unparalleled access to global business intelligence, innovative startups, and world-class networking opportunities.

Since Bayes Business School’s campus is at the centre of Zone 1, you can make the most of everything this great city has to offer via an excellent public transport system. This is convenient if you want to explore the city, travel to other parts of London, and then return home all in a day.

“Actually living here as a student was an even better experience than I had imagined,” Berthel says. “There were so many moments where I would go to a different neighbourhood in London after class and just pass by the landmarks, like Big Ben. I was so amazed that I could call this city my home.”
