Full scholarships allow talented and academically competitive students to overcome financial barriers that hold them back from getting a degree at a top-ranking university. If you’re an Indonesian student with such aspirations, you might be in luck.
A new partnership between Maybank and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat may help fund your study aspirations. Both parties have collaborated in providing full scholarships to students in ASEAN countries, with each ASEAN member nation setting its own terms and conditions. For Indonesian students, they may apply for the scholarship known as the Beasiswa S1 Asean-Maybank Scholarship.
This scholarship, introduced in 2022, aims to advocate intra-ASEAN integration. It is one of the ASEAN-level initiatives undertaken by the Maybank Foundation, which aims to “promote an innovative ASEAN approach to higher education.” This initiative is one of the strategic measures listed in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025.
The Beasiswa S1 Asean-Maybank scholarship recipients will study in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines or other ASEAN countries.
