Western Australia has launched a new travel portal to help international students enter the state. The International Student Travel Portal serves as an important resource to offer information and support for students. This includes helping them search and book flights, and access important information like how to download a G2G pass and gain financial assistance from the government.
International Education Minister David Templeman said, “International students are an important part of our community and we want to make them feel welcome. By giving them clear and easily accessible information through this new portal, students can familiarise themselves with the government travel and health requirements and even book their flights.
“We want to see thousands of international students return to our magnificent State and will continue to offer as much support as we can to make their experience as seamless as possible.”
In addition to the new travel portal, students who arrive before Mar. 3 will be given a one-off payment of A$2,000 to cover any quarantine-related expenses under an A$8 million support programme.
Western Australia will be reopening its borders on Mar. 3, 2022. Premier Mark McGowan’s “safe transition plan” has delayed the initial reopening date from Feb. 5, 2022, to curb the Omicron outbreak from other territories of Australia.
