Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Programme
The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for outstanding students from developing countries who lack financial capabilities for their education. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant to 50% loan basis through an annual competitive application process. The Foundation offers priority to master’s level courses but would also consider applications for PhD programmes.
The foundation only covers tuition fees and living expenses. Travel costs are not included in AKF scholarships. Funding for PhD programmes is only provided for the first two years of study, after which students will need to find alternative sources of assistance.
Half of the scholarship amount is taken into account as a loan, which must be reimbursed with an annual interest of 5%. Students would need to repay the loan in five years, six months after your study period has been funded by the foundation.
