    Student exchanges between Taiwan and China benefit both sides of the strait – a win-win situation as Taiwanese universities get to boost enrolment numbers while Chinese students get a freer academic experience.

    “You get to say what you’re thinking and they respect that. It changed me. Before you come you can only understand this place through news. You have to be in it to know what it’s like,” Liu Xinyue, a third-year broadcast production undergraduate from China’s Jilin province told LA Times.
