In Tweets: Students are feeling the magic on Harry Potter’s 20th anniversary

“Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.”

On June 26 1997, that was the first sentence that appeared in the book Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first of what would be a mega-selling series. And from there on, a legend was born.

For many students in university now, they grew up with the orphan wizard boy in the fantasy magic world where he found love and adventure, as well as pain and redemption.

A didactic coming-of-age story, the Potter series easily captivated the hearts and minds of readers, both young and old, around the globe.

Today, 20 years on, these fans pay tribute to their unlikely hero with a scar on his forehead, whose story have left them for the better in their own lives, in many more ways than one.
