Get into a UK university with this online pre-master’s programme

Do you intend to pursue a master’s in the UK? If so, this could be the first step towards realising your dream.

British Study Centres (BSC) will soon deliver a fully-online pre-master’s programme in partnership with UK pathway specialist NCUK. This programme will prepare international students for postgraduate study at 16 NCUK member institutions.

Steve Phillips, managing director of Pathways and Transnational Education at BSC said students who want to do their Master’s in the UK have “more flexible options than ever before” with this “high-quality NCUK program with great master’s degree progression routes.”

Why should I do the pre-master’s programme online?

Previously, students could only do this programme in the UK or at one of the NCUK Pre-Master’s Study Centres in the UK, Ireland, Japan, China, South Korea and Colombia. Now that it is available entirely online, students can improve their English language proficiency, study skills, and academic knowledge remotely before they make their move abroad.

What’s more, students will learn to plan a research project and take effective notes in lectures. Students from different parts of the world will also be oriented to studying in a Western academic setting.

With this qualification, the NCUK guarantees that you can progress to thousands of master’s degrees at its member universities — without applying to each institution separately.

Since you will be completing the programme remotely, you will save on travel and accommodation costs too, while launching your postgraduate studies abroad.

Do I qualify to do a master’s in the UK?

To be accepted in the online pre-master’s programme, you must have:

  • studied a bachelor’s degree (in a language other than English) from a government-approved university
  • obtained a grade equivalent to a 2:1
  • a language level of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

How do I enrol for the pre-master’s programme?

As this programme has just been launched, admissions details are scarce. Keep checking Study International, as well as the NCUK and BSC websites for updates.
