Malaysian students — here’s your chance to study at one of Hong Kong’s top universities

Hong Kong is Asia’s financial and banking centre that is also home to some of the region’s top universities, which means it has much to offer to international students. For Malaysian students who have always dreamt of studying in Hong Kong, here’s your chance. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is offering 10 half or full scholarships, each worth up to 300,000 Malaysian ringgit (around US$75,000) each to top Malaysian students for the September 2021 undergrad cohort.

HKUST is among the world’s top universities. It is ranked joint 56th in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2021 and fifth in the THE Asia University Rankings 2020. Admission applications are open now and guaranteed interviews will be granted to applicants who apply before Jan. 10, 2021. This is the largest scholarship programme ever in Malaysia. Students who apply for admissions will automatically be considered for scholarship — no separate application is required.

Who is eligible?

All students who are currently studying at a school in Malaysia or Malaysian students studying overseas are eligible to apply for the HKUST scholarship for Malaysian students. Applicants must fulfil several set of requirements by HKUST, their programme, and English Language. 

What can I study?

HKUST offers a wide array of undergraduate programmes, with 47 majors and 26 minors covering science, engineering, business and management, the humanities and social science, and interdisciplinary areas.

How can I apply?
