Celebrating every student’s success and achievements

Zoom in on the Niagara River in Ontario, Canada, and you’ll discover the beautiful 127-acre campus of Niagara Christian Collegiate (NCC). An independent, non-denominational Christian school, NCC has been educating with excellence for over 90 years and welcoming international students for 50 plus years. NCC offers engaging academic courses for students in grades 6 to 12 — its graduates evolve into life-long learners with the know-how and passion to serve each other, the community, and the world.

Established in 1932, NCC boasts a unique, family-like environment, making it a peaceful, friendly and nurturing home for local and international students. Here, students thrive. They develop deep friendships with their friends and peers from different cultures and backgrounds while preparing for success in university and beyond.

Hear from the students

Academics

At NCC, all students achieve academic excellence. Its expertly designed International Study Programme will be your stepping stone to success. Supported by well-trained faculty and staff, the programme provides dynamic and challenging course content tailored to students’ individual English language needs and course requirements.

The programme helps students obtain the required 6.5 score on their IELTS test to gain entry into the university of their choice. All of NCC’s 2021 graduates were given offers to study at post-secondary institutions in Canada and countries across the globe.

As a smaller school, NCC can be a little deceiving, as the breadth and diversity of the academic programme are as varied as the school’s population. Two-thirds are international students, who arrive from as close as the United States to as far afield as Japan and Uganda. The curriculum has a similar breadth, and the goal of the school is to deliver a comprehensive, international education through the lens of Christian values. Students are provided opportunities to grow in their knowledge, and faith and gain a sense of their place in the world.

Teachers who love what they do make this possible.

NCC’s August Credit programme is just as prolific. It provides great value, excellent academic results and an outstanding Canadian experience. Students in Grades 9 to 12 can earn Ontario secondary school credits in Math, ESL or core English, all of which lay the foundation for success in future studies at NCC or elsewhere. They also embark on cultural experiences, field trips and activities throughout Southern Ontario, meeting new friends and creating new memories.

Whichever programme students take, their every success and achievement will be celebrated.

says Janet Soppitt, who teaches English and works in the Student Services Department.

“I love the family atmosphere at NCC, and I enjoy being able to teach students about English, how to live well and most importantly, sharing the love of Jesus with them.”

Extra-curriculars

Dynamic extra-curricular activities are essential to the NCC experience. Pair them with the school’s beautiful and spacious campus, which boasts an impressive gymnasium, a recreation centre, a fitness centre, a music room, and other indoor facilities, and you’ll get a rich student life experience.

Here, students have the option to join a wide range of activities, from Model UN and business leadership opportunities to athletics, clubs, fine arts, and a variety of youth programmes. No matter which activities they choose, students will develop leadership and social skills, confidence, and self-discipline.

Student life

At NCC, exciting things are constantly taking place. NCC Programme Coordinators engage students in a variety of regularly planned weekend and evening activities. Outdoor activities such as ultimate frisbee, soccer, walks and bike rides along the Niagara River or perhaps more relaxing pursuits such as movie nights, ping pong or board games in the Recreation Centre, are ways students engage with each other during their freetime..

The boys’ and girls’ dormitories are separate, each with a Dorm Director and an Assistant Director, living onsite to guide and mentor students. With such a community, students develop solid, character-building relationships.

Situated on the shores of the Niagara River, NCC provides a perfect backdrop to nature’s finest. The tranquil campus may seem a world away from the hustle and bustle of urban life, however, this rural campus is just a short drive to scenic Niagara Falls and within close proximity to Ontario’s capital city, Toronto. Students at NCC are sure to never tire of the beautiful views or the expanse this campus affords.
