The College of Engineering at Lamar University (LU) is focused on giving students a headstart in their careers. “The college is committed to preparing students to be job-ready,” says Brian Craig, Dean. “We have also modernised our labs in all departments and added a new Emerson Advanced Technology Center with the most recent Delta-V control systems. We have upgraded computer labs and systems. The faculty and I are fully committed to preparing our graduates for the digital transformation.”

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering programs at LU aims to solve problems related to the production of fuels and chemicals.

The Civil and Environmental Engineering department has a comprehensive Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering that is accredited by ABET.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering began graduating students with the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1953.

The Lamar University Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering has integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a fundamental technology taught to solve problems in robotics, quality control, reliability, safety, scheduling, warehousing, and supply chain management.

Mechanical Engineering is a broad discipline and encompasses expertise in many fields including, thermo-fluid engineering, material and manufacturing, robotics and autonomous systems, vibration engineering and control, renewable energy, etc.
