Level up with a

Master’s degree from Arts University Bournemouth

AUB has an exciting portfolio of postgraduate courses, including a range of Performance and Film disciplines, all created to develop students’ expertise and boost post-graduation employability. While each course is as specific or discipline-focused as can be, the interdisciplinary approach to learning encourages students to tailor their own creative journey.

Central to AUB’s ethos is developing students’ systematic and critical understanding, but also the application of that knowledge. This is why every postgraduate course at AUB integrates theory and practice into its teaching methods. MA students will be able to work with each other, form a postgraduate network, and tap into the institution’s collaborative opportunities. In the process, they facilitate a wider dialogue revolving around creative industries and professions.

Where tomorrow’s

Art and Design professionals are made

Like the master’s degrees covering Performance and Film disciplines, AUB’s postgraduate qualifications in Art and Design subjects combine unparalleled traditional learning with ground-breaking research to produce stellar arts graduates. Teaching is delivered using the Postgraduate Network Model which means courses have shared lectures — a prime opportunity to share knowledge with students from other courses.

Students have access to a suite of workshops, studios and digital resources, AUB’s campus also has designated spaces to encourage and facilitate discussions and collaborative work. For example, the Innovation Studio — designed by renowned architect Sir Peter Cook — houses a wealth of resources, including AUB's Lab 4 Creative Technologies. In this building, industry-standard equipment for digital fabrication, 3D printing hub, virtual reality, digital textiles and fashion, and a central workshop for activities such as welding are available for student use.

MA Design and Innovation

This postgraduate programme heavily relies on AUB’s iconic Innovation Studio for practical learning. It was created to not only help undergraduates progress in their careers but to also cater to those already in practice who are ready to “return to education”. Students address design problems by applying a process of systematically interrogating design practices like using design methods to analyse and comprehend situations or generate alternative solutions.
